3 Fabulous Ways to Pamper Yourself this Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is this weekend. If you are a mom, make sure to set aside time to pamper yourself this Mother’s Day. (And for those of you looking to do something special for your mom or wife, buy her a gift card and encourage her to do so!) Moms are self-sacrificing creatures by nature, but this is the day of the year when you have the BEST excuse to put yourself first. Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish, it actually fills you back up so that you can keep giving all that you have to the ones you love. So, don’t feel guilty about pampering yourself this Mother’s Day weekend. And if you need some ideas on what to do, here’s three fabulous ones:
#1: Splurge on something you normally wouldn’t buy.
Have you been eyeing an amazing (yet totally impractical) pair of shoes? Or a beautiful leather purse that you don’t really need? Perhaps you are an amazing cook and have been drooling over the latest collection of all-clad cookware…or a new antique for your formal dining room. OR, maybe your splurge is a massage, pedicure, or a really expensive bottle of wine. Whatever that “thing” is that gets you excited, give yourself permission to buy it this holiday. You truly do deserve it!
#2: Choose the restaurant that YOU want to eat at this time.
Have you ever noticed that sometimes Mother’s Day is more work than fun? Maybe you host a Mother’s Day meal for your mom or daughter and spend the day cooking (and cleaning up afterwards). Or, you go out to lunch, but the kids are with you and even though you’d really love to try that new fusion restaurant downtown, you opt for the family-friendly all-American food joint that has a kid’s menu and crayons. #3: Decide to take care of yourself not only on Mother’s Day, but every day.
