As Fall Winds Down – Is Your Skin Winter Ready?

Temperatures continue to drop, and depending on where you live, this could mean harsh, cold weather is just around the corner. So, how do you keep your skin refreshed and restored throughout the winter? If you’ve been a little lax on your skincare lately, it is time to renew your daily regimen. Here are some simple steps to refresh your skin for winter:

 Practice Healthy Habits

Good hydration and a proper diet make just as much of a difference for your skin as they do your waistline. With holidays fast approaching, we often neglect our healthy habits…. between all the shopping, the parties, and winter travel, who has time? The good news is that if notice your winter habits are taking a toll on your skin, it is relatively easy to get back on track.

Drink more water and less caffeine. Limit the number of cocktails that you have at a holiday party. Try to cut back on sugars and simple carbs and fill your plate with fruits, veggies, and healthy fats, instead. These simple changes can refresh your skin too and renew its healthy glow.

Apply Sunscreen Regularly

Most people are good about applying sunscreen during the summer months but don’t really give it much thought in the winter. However, your facial skin needs sun protection ALL year long. If you live in an area with a moderate climate, you still have plenty of sunny days. Yet, even in the colder parts of the country, sun reflecting off the snow can wreak havoc on your skin. So, use a day cream or facial sunscreen that is at least 30 SPF and renew it several times during the day if you plan to spend a lot of time outdoors.

Restore Skin Daily with Moisturizer

Winter weather is frequently dry and harsh. The lack of moisture in the air can be brutal to your skin, making it feel dry, cracked, and even inflamed. Restore it daily with a high-quality moisturizer. Signature Skin’s Revitalizing Moisturizer is a premium, medical-grade moisturizer that will leave your skin feeling smooth and refreshed within the first few days of use. Plus, it contains anti-inflammatory ingredients to soothe dry and itchy skin, even from the cold winter weather.

By adding a few simple habits added your daily routine, your skin will be ready for whatever winter may bring!
